Magic and UsePaid
UsePaid pays the creator fees of coins launched for X accounts to those accounts, as dollars in X Money. Magic is built as its upgrade. For UsePaid, this page uses only what its own site, usepaid.app, stated when it was read on 21 September 2026.
How UsePaid works
UsePaid describes itself as a fee bridge. A coin launched on pump.fun, on Solana, points its creator fees at UsePaid's treasury and names its recipient with the line "Fees to @handle via UsePaid" in the coin description. UsePaid claims the fees on chain and splits them: 80% is paid to the named X account through X Money, and 20% is spent buying and burning UsePaid's $PAID token. The fees of all coins pool in one treasury; the amount that belongs to each coin is kept in UsePaid's database.
The dollars take this path. The SOL is sent to Kraken and sold for USD. The USD moves by ACH (Plaid Transfer) into the X Money balance of UsePaid's own X account, @UsePaid. From that balance, an X Money payment is sent person to person to the recipient's handle. UsePaid's site explains how the sends are automated: "@UsePaid has one [a key] enrolled and held by our payout worker. When X requests verification, the worker uses the key to sign the verification challenge, allowing the payment to proceed through the X Money interface. This is what makes the sends automatic."
A handle without X Money receives a claimable payment that "usually" expires within 14 days; expired payments return to UsePaid and fund the $PAID buyback. X Money is available to US residents only. UsePaid lists a Robinhood Chain venue as its next, and describes its BNB Chain venue as "being explored. Not supported, and may never be."
Side by side
| UsePaid (usepaid.app, read 21 September 2026) | Magic | |
|---|---|---|
| Chain and venue | pump.fun on Solana; a Robinhood Chain venue listed as next; BNB Chain "Not supported, and may never be" | BNB Chain, through the Flap launchpad |
| How the recipient is named | The line "Fees to @handle via UsePaid" in the coin description | The X handle and the account's numeric X user id, registered on chain against the coin right after launch; the site does it automatically |
| Where fees sit | One treasury for all coins; each coin's share recorded in UsePaid's database | One on-chain treasury, the MagicTreasury, for all coins; each payment is a FeeReceived event naming the paying coin's Flap tax processor, and each coin's X account is recorded on chain |
| Split | 80% to the named account; 20% buys and burns $PAID | 90% to the named account; 10% to Magic |
| Payout rail | SOL sold on Kraken for USD; ACH (Plaid Transfer) into @UsePaid's X Money balance; X Money person-to-person send to the recipient's handle | BNB paid out of the treasury and swapped to USDC on BNB Chain; USDC moved to Base; sent to the creator's Bridge liquidation address; Bridge pays it by ACH (or wire) into the creator's X Money account and routing number |
| Who operates the payout account | UsePaid: the @UsePaid X Money account, whose verification key is held by UsePaid's payout worker | No X Money account in the middle: Bridge originates the ACH credit to the creator's own account, with Magic's company as its customer |
| What the recipient does | Nothing, if they already have X Money | Signs in with X once and adds X Money details, or a BNB wallet, once; never claims and never posts |
| Recipients without X Money | A claimable payment that "usually" expires within 14 days | BNB to a wallet, which works everywhere; or the share waits in the treasury until X Money details are added |
| Unclaimed money | Expired payments return to UsePaid and fund the $PAID buyback | Nothing expires; a creator's share stays in the treasury under their handle until it is paid to them |
| Crypto option | — | BNB to the creator's own wallet, paid from the treasury |
| Transparency | Treasury on chain; which coin and recipient each amount belongs to is in UsePaid's database; payouts are X Money sends | Every inflow and every payout is an on-chain event; each Payout carries the hash of the creator's handle, so anyone can recompute each creator's balance; the proof page lists every payout with its transaction and, for dollars, its Bridge drain and ACH trace number |
A dash marks a feature that UsePaid's site did not describe when it was read.
What the upgrade changes
A venue built for it. UsePaid runs on pump.fun and describes its BNB Chain venue as not supported. Magic is built on Flap's own creator-fee payment on BNB Chain: every coin launched through Magic pays the MagicTreasury, and the launch flow registers the coin to its X account on chain.
Every coin's income is on chain. UsePaid also pools fees in one treasury, but the split between coins lives in its database. In Magic, every payment names the coin that paid it and every coin is registered to its X account on chain, so what each coin earned, and for whom, can be checked by anyone.
90 / 10 instead of 80 / 20. The named account receives 90% of the coin's creator fees. Magic's 10% also carries the cost of converting and paying out, so the creator's 90% is not reduced by it.
Nothing expires. UsePaid's claimable payments usually expire within 14 days, and the money then funds a buyback. Magic keeps a creator's share in the treasury for as long as it takes them to arrive.
A banking rail into the creator's own account. UsePaid moves dollars into its own X Money balance and then sends them person to person through the X Money interface, with a payout worker signing X's verification challenges. Magic's dollars never pass through an X Money account of its own: each creator's USDC goes to their personal Bridge liquidation address, and Bridge pays it by ACH, a standard banking rail, to the creator's own X Money account and routing number. Every deposit carries an ACH trace number. The full mechanism is set out in How ACH payouts work through Bridge.
Dollars or a wallet. A creator chooses: dollars into X Money, or BNB paid from the treasury to their own wallet.
A public proof ledger. Every payout out of the treasury is a Payout event tagged with the
creator's handle hash, listed on the proof page with its transaction and, for dollars, its bank
reference. Anyone can recompute every creator's balance from the chain.
What Magic asks in return
UsePaid needs no step at all from a recipient who already has X Money. Magic asks every dollar recipient for two things, once: a sign-in with X, and their X Money account and routing numbers. In exchange, the money goes into the creator's own account by a bank transfer, every coin that ever names them pays into the same place, and nothing they are owed can expire.
